Throw It To The U

What if the life you're meant to live isn't something you have to force into existence…
but something that unfolds naturally once you stop trying to hold everything together?

Handing over what isn't yours to hold

When I started researching what it takes to let go of control, I didn't just interview my clients.

I studied those who had made a name for themselves in the field of surrendering, letting go of control, and manifestation. I listened to their podcasts and read their books, listening for patterns.

A notable one was Michael Singer's book "The Surrender Experiment".

In the book, Michael describes how he was in awe of how nature simply unfolds. How seeds turn into trees, the vastness of the Universe, and he figures that if there is a divine plan for nature, it is the same for us. So he decided to do an experiment: surrender.

This meant surrendering all his preferences of what direction his life took.

I read it and thought: "I will never do that. No way!"

I preferred other styles of manifesting. The kind where I get to decide what I want and desire.

Over time I came to realize that this is actually a subtle form of control.

As I learnt how to let go of control, and started living beyond the Doom Loop™, it became clear to me that the Unknown has a beautiful way of unfolding for us.

Rather than sitting down to visualize the outcome (ie control the outcome), Throw It To The U takes a different approach. We don't see visualisations as instructions to the U.

Visualisations aren't instructions

Instead, we see them as glimpses.

You'll start to notice that desires and wants don't come from the intellect. They tend to just bubble up when you are aligned with who you truly are. Visions pop up as little promises of what's to come. They're often instantaneous.

They're a glimmer of what's possible. A promise of what wants to unfold.

What it means to Throw It To The U

Throw It To The U™ is not about giving up and doing nothing. It is about recognizing the difference between what is yours to carry and what is not.
When I created my first playbook for my clients, to go through the process of letting go of control, I had named it "Manifest Your Soul-Inspired Outcome". It was a little lengthy and when my husband asked me for the third time: "What's it called again," I knew it was time to change it.

I knew I something short and powerful. Something unique. And initially I started making a list of possible names. I then asked my colleague Joan Bell to brainstorm with me.

The names we came up with were bland. Boring. Not original.

At some point I mentioned that I had to go make dinner, so it was time to end our chat.

Being a recovering control freak, I was surprised at how ok I was to not have the name yet. Instead, I felt a deep sense of trust. It would come. I was ok to just let it go.

As we are saying our goodbyes, Joan asked: "So, are you going to continue brainstorming, or are you just going to throw it to the U?"

I laughed so loud at that and typed back: "That's the name!"

That's what it means to throw it to the U. Rather than trying to figure it out yourself, you hand it over to the unknown that some refer to as the Universe, source energy, or God.

It's not yours to hold. It never was.

And over time you'll find that there are actually more things that are not yours to hold, than not.

If these ideas resonate with you, you're not alone.

Many thoughtful, deeply feeling people sense that life is meant to unfold with more ease, trust, and meaning than the constant effort our culture encourages.

Inside the Feel Free, Finally community, we explore these ideas together. A space for deep-feeling thinkers who are ready to step beyond their Doom Loop™ and rediscover what becomes possible when intuition leads and the intellect learns to follow.
